“Where should I take a woman on a first date?” is a question I get from guys all the time. And I understand why. The place you pick can really make or break your first date. So, let’s dive into how to choose the best first date spot and share some of my favorite first date activities.
Know the Goal of Your First Date
When you ask a woman out, you’re obviously romantically and sexually interested in her. And, like most guys, you also want a woman who meets your standards and preferences in a partner. This means your first date should aim to:
- Get to know her
- Have fun
- Escalate the interaction if she meets your standards
If it’s your first time meeting her and you don’t know her well, it’s a good idea to start with something quick and casual. This way, you’re not stuck in a two-hour dinner with someone you might not have chemistry with.
Have Multiple Spots/Activities for Your First Date
Most guys only pick one place or activity for a first date, but it’s better to have multiple spots. Why? Taking a woman to multiple places gives her the experience of multiple dates. Moving from one place to another naturally makes her feel comfortable and more intimate around you. Plus, if you’re worried about running out of things to say, multiple spots give you more topics to talk about. And if you realize you don’t like her that much, it’s easier to end the date early.
Plan Your Logistics
Always plan for success. What happens if the date is going great, and the two of you are making out in your car, or she suggests going somewhere quieter, but you’re an hour away from home? Plan your logistics ahead of time. Pick venues that are reasonably close to your home, making it easier to invite her over if things get heated.
First Date Activities
Now that you know the thinking behind picking first date spots, here are some of my favorite first date activities:
- Ice cream – Walk in the park – Drinks on the beach
- Arcade bar – Lounge – Ice cream
- Salsa classes – Drinks at a lounge – Another lounge closer to your place
Salsa classes, you may ask? Dancing is a great activity because it allows you two to touch and get close.
Do some searches on Google Maps and Yelp, and I’m sure you’ll come up with your own great spots.
